The Marin Headlands and Fort Baker are part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area that extends north of the Golden Gate Bridge to Tomales Bay in Marin County and south to the San Mateo coast. The Marin Headlands and Fort Baker are located in the San Francisco Bay area at the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge.  The specific project area is shown above. Phase 1 of the improvements was completed in 2010 with rehabilitation to Upper Conzelman Road, McCullough Road, and East Road.  Projects for 2011 include West Bunker Tunnel to Alexander Avenue Connector (Danes Drive), Field Road, and Lower Conzelman Road.
