Closures & delays: bikes
Due to unsafe conditions of the tunnel and a portion of road during construction, the Baker-Barry Tunnel and Bunker Road to McCullough Road will be closed to all vehicles except construction traffic for several weeks. Bicyclists will be allowed to use the tunnel in both directions before 8:00 am and after 5:00 pm on weekdays and all day during weekends. During construction hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekdays, all bicycles must use Conzelman Road to enter and exit the Headlands as shown in the map.
Excavation using large equipment on Alexander Avenue started on April 1st resulting in delays (up to 15 minutes) will continue through July 3rd. Bicycles and pedestrians are advised to take a detour to Sausalito for their safety during the Alexander Avenue construction period.
Bicyclists should expect no more than 15 minutes total delay on Bunker Road, Old Bunker Road, and Mitchell Road starting on April 26 through June 28th from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
