ALEXANDER AVENUE/DANES DRIVE INTERSECTION
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT (EA) / INITIAL STUDY (IS) AVAILABLE
FOR PUBLIC REVIEW

The National Park Service (NPS) and the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District (GGBHTD) have prepared an Environmental Assessment/Initial Study (EA/IS) for the Alexander Avenue/Danes Drive Intersection Improvement Project and are soliciting public comments on the EA/IS.

Beginning Friday, October 28 at 7:00 am the entire loop of the roads in the Headlands, including Field Road and One-Way Conzelman Road, from Hawk Hill to Field Road, will re-open to all users (bicycles, vehicles, and pedestrians).   Read more...

TwitterRSS PERMANENT CLOSURE OF MENDELL ROAD AND BIRD ISLAND OVERLOOK TO VEHICLES

Beginning Tuesday, September 6, Mendell Road and Bird Island Overlook will be permanently closed to vehicles.  The existing roadway is being rehabilitated from a paved surface to a chert aggregate trail as part of the restoration of Battery Mendell by the National Park Service. Read more...

Access into and out of the Northwest Bridge Parking Lot will be closed to vehicles due to paving operations from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm each day on Tuesday, July 19 through Thursday, July 21.  Vehicles will be able to access the parking lot prior to 10:00 am and after 3:00 pm each day. Read more...

After much work and some closures, the improvement and construction on Conzelman Road is now complete from Alexander Avenue to Field Road. Today, Thursday September 15, the one-way section of Upper Conzelman Road from Hawk Hill to the Lower Fisherman’s Parking Area, including the Upper Fisherman’s Parking Lot, will reopen at 5:00 pm. Read more...
